New Rider Information.

So you (or your kids) have decided to race BMX? That's great! We would like to welcome you to Capital City BMX, the best track on the East Coast. CCBMX has been providing a safe, fun and exciting BMX experience for over 25 years in the Raleigh area. We race most Sunday's, weather permitting. We encourage all riders and/or parents to join our mailing list. This will allow you to receive all of the latest, up to date information on what is going on at Capital City BMX. CCBMX offers new rider clinics to help riders of all skill levels learn the basics of BMX. The clinics are lead by Bill Miller, who has over 25 years of BMX racing experience all over the United States. Bill will cover the basics of BMX
racing including, gate starts, passing, bike maintenance and many other topics. New members can take their first clinic for free. The regular cost for the clinic is $4. Clinics are scheduled every four weeks, weather permitting. The track must be dry and the temperature over 50 degrees. The clinic schedule is May 3 10am-12pm, May 31 10am-12pm, June 28 10am-12noon. Please call the hotline for up to date information.

All riders must wear a long sleeve shirt, long pants, and a helmet. Gloves are highly recommended. You bike must be free of all reflectors, chain guards and foot pegs. You must also have pad on your bike. If you do not have pads, or are unsure where they go, we can help you at the track. We can also help you with temporary pads. The only other thing is to have FUN! All riders must hold a current license from the American Bicycle Association (ABA). The ABA license can be obtained at the track on race days for $45.00. You can print out the form from our website and bring it with you to help speed up the process. Those riders who are interested in trying out the track prior to registering may do so after completing a waiver, which must be signed by a parent or legal guardian (if under the age of 18).
